Geist Steering Wheel Restoration Kit
It's no surprise that this is one of the most popular products in the Geist Leather Care range. Steering wheel wear is one of the most obvious signs of neglect for any interior and is especially frustrating for the driver. This Steering wheel repair kit takes care of that.
When Steering wheels have not been maintained and are showing signs of wear, this kit includes everything you need to re-colour a black steering wheels on any vehicle. Small scratches and areas where colour has worn off can be easily refreshed.
Leather steering wheels are exposed to a lot of moisture, grease from skin, cosmetic creams and sunlight. Sweat (being salty) is especially damaging for leather over long periods. The colour softens and rubs off, or the leather begins to crack. Regular cleaning and protection will prevent damage.
Steering Wheel Repair Kit Contents:
- Rapid Leather & Vinyl Cleaner 100ml/3.5fl.oz ℮
- Degreaser for Leather & Vinyl 50ml/1.7fl.oz ℮
- Easy Colour Restorer (Black) 50ml/1.7fl.oz ℮
- Dye & Friction Blocker 50ml/1.7fl.oz ℮
- 1 Sanding Pad, 2 sponges, 2 cloths
Instructions for Leather Steering Wheel Restoration:
- Spray Rapid Cleaner onto the sponge and squeeze it to create foam. Clean the steering wheel using the sponge to rub the surface. Then, wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Repeat several times if necessary. Then, wipe with a dry cloth.
- Pour a little Degreaser onto a dry cloth and rub firmly over the surface to remove the remaining grease.
- With the Sanding pad, gently smooth out rough areas. Be careful not to sand the stitching. Wipe off dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Apply Easy Colour Restorer (one-step colouring pigment/dye) using a sponge. Wipe the colour evenly in the direction of the fibres and dab into damaged areas. Dry each layer with a hairdryer in a medium setting. Build multiple thin layers until the desired covering is achieved.
- A day later, apply Dye & Friction Blocker to increase the durability and resistance of the repaired area.
