Iron Removers
Remove Embedded Iron Contaminants Safely
Iron removers are designed to chemically remove imbedded iron contamination from wheels, paintwork and glass. The new generation chemicals turn a reddish-purple colour upon contact with any iron or ferrous metal deposits, as they begin to dissolve the particles for safe removal. Sometimes several applications are needed.
Are Iron Removers safe paint work
Yes, iron removers are safe for paintwork when used correctly. They’re typically pH-balanced and won’t damage paint, clear coat, or coatings. As they breakdown iron deposits to release them from your clear coat, they help avoid the scratches that would occur from dragging these across your paint.
What to watch out for when using iron removers
-
Don’t let them dry on the surface, especially in direct sun.
-
Rinse thoroughly after the reaction (when it turns purple).
-
Use only on cool, clean surfaces for best results.
Whilst some of these chemicals have an undesirable odour they are very effective and are quite harmless.
